Bethanie Hong Kong

Bethanie Hong Kong

Bethanie was Hong Kong’s first sanatorium. Built by the Missions Etrangeres de Paris in 1875, it operated for a century on a hilltop surrounded by dairy pastures at Pokfulam. In March 2003, the Legislative Council approved capital works fund for the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to restore Bethanie and two neighbouring Dairy Farm cowsheds as the Academy’s Landmark Heritage campus. This beautiful neo-gothic chapel is without equal in Hong Kong. St. John’s Cathedral will hold church services in the Chapel on Sundays and other Holy Days.

All pics were taken with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 (simple AI mode).
